The original architectural and mechanical designs of the barracks and supporting central energy plants, accomplished in the 1970s, did not provide for adequate control of humidity levels within the occupied spaces, resulting in the growth of mold and mildew on the interior surfaces. Etegra minimized vapor transmission through the building envelope, improved energy efficiency, eliminated standing water in crawl spaces, provided dehumidified make-up air to provide proper space relative humidity, sealed the building envelope to minimize infiltration and provided consistent and properly chilled water supply temperatures.
